Senior or Principle 3G RF Engineering Role

Qualifications, Experience and knowledge:

Degree in Engineering or Science discipline.
Min 3 yrs experience in UMTS RF planning and optimisation
Relevant experience in the following: UMTS specs, Ericsson UMTS Equipment, Ericsson OSS, MapInfo, MS Access Databases, Business Objects
In-depth knowledge of UMTS System Hardware modules
Database and programming experience is a bonus

Roles and responsibilities:

Work with development team:

Liaise with developers in design of Enterprise 2G /3G architecture.
Assist in the design & development of software engines and GUI’s.

Product design:

High-level theoretical design of 3G tool.
Definition of appropriate metrics and KPIs for performance analysis of 3G networks.
In-depth detailed design of 3G tool from background database structure to toll functionality and GUI design.
Liaise with other 2G and 3G engineers in design & development of 3G software.
Evaluate possibility of BSC/RNC dimensioning software.
Search for interesting trends and information in network data; devise statistical and other mathematical methods to model portions of access networks.
Drafting of 3G training documents and user manuals.

Work with clients:

Provide training on 3G tool.
Client installations and data preparation.
Perform capacity audits and report on client network data.
Support clients in using the tool
Manage feedback from clients.
Other:
Support sales by providing necessary technical information.
Establish research projects with universities and work placement students.
Work with universities on research projects in mathematical modelling on data traffic patterns.
