Role Description
The primary role of the RAN engineer will work as part of the Network Innovation group which is primarily responsible for the design of SW products for the Telecoms industry
Qualifications
- Primary Degree in Engineering or Science discipline
Experience
Required Experience :
- Min 3 yrs experience in UMTS RF optimisation
- Extensive experience in the following:
1. Huawei UMTS Equipment
2. Huawei Features
3. Huawei OSS
- Experience with Capacity Planning for Air Interface and Node B HW
- In-depth knowledge of UMTS System Hardware modules
- Knowledge of MapInfo, MS Access Databases, Business Objects
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lead teams and work as part of a team
Desirable Experience :
- Other Vendor knowledge (NSN, Ericsson)
- 2G RAN Optimisation and Capacity Planning experience
- Product development lifecycle understanding
- High Level design work
Responsibilities
- High-level theoretical design of 3G tools
- Definition of appropriate metrics and KPIs for performance analysis of 3G networks
- In-depth detailed design of 3G tool from background database structure to toll functionality and GUI design
- Liaise with other 2G and 3G engineers in design & development work
- Communicate RAN concepts to SW development team
- Support sales by providing necessary technical information
